Rating Comments: Mr. Carle refused to give direct answers to CLC's 2019 federal election questionnaire, stating instead that his position on abortion and end of life issue is "far more nuanced" than our questionnaire would allow him to express - even though CLC provides an opportunity for candidate's to elaborate on their positions.
He did acknowledge that abortion and end of life issue are "very important" and asserted that, on any legislative proposals, he would vote according to his conscience.
In response to an inquiry from a pro-life voter, Mr. Carle suggested he and his wife would never have aborted any of their 5 children, even if they had been diagnosed with genetic defects. However, he did not elaborate about his views on the legality/criminalization of abortion, other than to say he thought a late-term abortion ban might be a place to start.
