Bio
CLC rating: Pro-abortion, anti-parental rights
Rating Comments: Previously, Ms. Jonah ran for the Green Party of Canada in the 2019 federal election. Based on Green Party policy which supports expanding taxpayer funding of abortions to private, for-profit killing centres like the notorious Clinic 554 abortuary in Fredericton. During the 2014 campaign trail, the Green Party leader also declared that the Green party, if elected to government, would immediately repeal the modicum of abortion restrictions that then existed in New Brunswick. Those restrictions, which have since been dismantled, had included a requirement that 2 doctors sign off on an abortion as being 'medically necessary' before it could be funded by taxpayers. Removing that restriction means the government agrees to fund all abortions, for any reason or no reason at all, even as a back-up birth control method.

Position on diverting taxpayer $$ towards paying for abortions at Morgentaler's private "clinic" In 2014, the Liberal Party Leader in NB came out against the long-standing ban on public funding for private abortion facilities. For decades, all 3 major parties have agreed that the province shall not fund abortions at private abortion 'clinics'. Only abortions committed at hospitals are publicly funded. After an organized campaign to fund the Morgentaler abortuary, the Liberal Leader came out strongly in favour of fully-funded, abortion-on-demand. |

Position on cancelling the provincial requirement that 2 doctors sign off on the abortion as 'medically necessary' before it gets funded by taxpayers. This is the current, decades old policy of the New Brunswick government. It was agreed upon by all major parties until 2014 when the Liberal Leader suggested this modicum of restriction needs to be removed, in the name of 'a woman's right to choose'. |
