Candidate, Sharon Greenlaw
Consensus New Brunswick Party, Fundy-The Isles-Saint John Lorneville, NB
Bio
CLC rating: Pro-abortion, anti-parental rights
Rating Comments: CLC's rating for Sharon Greenlaw is based on the fact that she was a candidate for the rabidly pro-abortion, pro-LGBT ideology NDP in the 2020 New Brunswick provincial election.
In every jurisdiction, the NDP is a notorious organization of anti-life, anti-family political agitators. In relation to abortion. the past leader of New Brunswick's provincial NDP, Dominic Cardy, issued a declaration during the 2014 election campaign that all NDP MLAs must vote pro-abortion, even if it means violating their consciences and/or religious beliefs. To the best of our knowledge, this NDP policy has never been rescinded and is still in force. Under this anti-democratic edict, no NDP MLA would dare go against the Party's pro-abortion policy for fear of being thrown out of caucus, and no prospective candidate is allowed to run under the NDP banner unless they support abortion. Former NDP leader Cardy said at the time that, if elected Premier, his government would support funneling public tax dollars towards abortions committed at private, for-profit killing centres.

Votes, Surveys and Policy Decision | Vote | Score |

Position on diverting taxpayer $$ towards paying for abortions at Morgentaler's private "clinic" In 2014, the Liberal Party Leader in NB came out against the long-standing ban on public funding for private abortion facilities. For decades, all 3 major parties have agreed that the province shall not fund abortions at private abortion 'clinics'. Only abortions committed at hospitals are publicly funded. After an organized campaign to fund the Morgentaler abortuary, the Liberal Leader came out strongly in favour of fully-funded, abortion-on-demand. |

Position on cancelling the provincial requirement that 2 doctors sign off on the abortion as 'medically necessary' before it gets funded by taxpayers. This is the current, decades old policy of the New Brunswick government. It was agreed upon by all major parties until 2014 when the Liberal Leader suggested this modicum of restriction needs to be removed, in the name of 'a woman's right to choose'. |
