Candidate, Robert-Falcon Ouellette
Liberal Party, Southdale, MB
Bio
CLC rating: Pro-abortion, anti-parental rights
Rating Comments: Robert-Falcon Ouellette amassed a pro-death and anti-family voting record during his time as a federal MP in Justin Trudeau's Liberal government, having voted in favour of abortion, transgender ideology, and decriminalizing drugs. After leaving federal politics, Mr. Ouellette ran unsuccessfully for the office of Mayor of Winnipeg in the 2022 municipal elections.
The Office of the Leader of Manitoba’s Liberal Party sent a statement to CLC during the 2016 Manitoba provincial election cycle which claimed to represent the beliefs of all Liberal Party candidates and MLAs. The statement suggests that all Manitoba Liberal candidates support the legalized killing of preborn children by abortion, as well as forcing taxpayers to finance those killings with public money. Furthermore, it implies that all Liberal candidates will oppose legislation that would protect the conscience rights of doctors and other health care workers, for example, in continuing to be able to refuse to participate in abortion, or give referrals for abortion. The statement also suggests that every Liberal candidate opposes the fundamental right of parents to withdraw their children from classroom lessons which contradict their religious and moral values, on the topics of marriage and homosexuality.
To his credit, during his term as a federal Liberal MP, Mr. Ouellette voted against the legalization of euthanasia in 2016 (the only Liberal MP to do so), and also voted to support the conscience rights of healthcare workers who refused to participate this form of medical homicide.
