MLA Elenore Sturko
Conservative Party, Surrey-Cloverdale, BC
Bio
CLC rating: Pro-abortion, Pro-LGBT ideology
Rating Comments: At the end of August 2024, with just weeks to go before the BC provincial election, MLA Sturko posted a statement on X that made it clear she supports the killing of unborn babies by abortion, under the well-worn euphemism "reproductive rights".
In June 2024, MLA Sturko announced her departure from the BC United (formerly Liberal) Party in order to join the BC Conservative Party. Sturko has a history of prolific LGBT activism and propaganda, and currently lives in a homosexual (lesbian) relationship in which they are raising children.
During a February 2024 interview with Rebel News in which Sturko was asked her position on the ongoing parental resistance to SOGI curriculum in BC schools, the MLA seemed generally supportive of the SOGI curriculum. However, she agreed that parents should have the right to demand the removal, or at least review, of homosexual books which cross the line into gay porn, as have been discovered throughout BC schools. She also indicated support for the right of parents to opt their kids out of sex-ed lessons, although she was not clear as to whether parents should have the right to opt their children out of all SOGI lessons, discussions and awareness campaigns.
In June 2024, MLA Sturko left the BC United Party to join the BC Conservative Party, which was surging in the polls at that time in anticipation of the October 2024 provincial election. While, prior to the commencement of the 2024 election campaign, Sturko remains the BC Conservative MLA for Surrey South, she is seeking election in the nearby riding of Surrey-Cloverdale, which is held by incumbent NDP MLA Mike Starchuk.
