Rating Comments: In 2020, as a Calgary City Councillor, Ms. Farrell voted to pass a tyrannical ban on so-called "conversion therapy", thereby robbing Calgarians of their human right to freely seek therapy and council to overcome unwanted homoerotic and transsexualist fixations. The bylaw bans psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, priests and pastors from providing counselling support to patients who request assistance with unwanted same-sex attraction and gender identity confusion. The by-law effectively initiates the de-facto criminalization of key Christian teachings on human sexuality, predictably including public prayer and evangelization to call homosexualists out of a sinful lifestyle.
Ms. Farrell's rating is also based on official party policy which is pro-abortion and pro-LGBT ideology. According to a January 27 2010 Edmonton Sun article, the New Democratic Party of Alberta published a report calling for greater access to abortion, and complaining that part of the problem is because not enough medical students are taught how to kill babies in-utero.
