CLC rating: Problematic response to LGBTQ survey
Rating Comments: In response to a 2014 election survey conducted by a gay-activist organization, Terry replied that he supports "Gay-Straight Alliances and other queer oriented clubs and activities' in Catholic schools. This is a problematic policy position for trustees who have a moral and fiduciary obligation to uphold the Catholic faith. GSAs are a type of gay pride club which, in practice, agitates to undermine Catholic doctrine on marriage and human sexuality. In response to CLC's 2014 questionnaire, Terry said he would not work against all attempts to expand sex-ed program in Catholic schools, as that might "limit change to improve the broader subject matter".
Percentage in last election: 19.24% (2010), 20.25% (2014), 18.6% (2022)
Victory margin last election: 9.76% (2014), 6.7% (2022)
Religion / Faith: Catholic
