Rating Comments: In response to a pro-life voter/constituent in Kitchener who sent the candidate CLC's 2022 election questionnaire, Mr. Shevchenko wrote back with a statement that was somewhat schizophrenic. He said, "I do believe in pro life", adding: "but honestly it should only be up to the women to decide".
One cannot be pro-life and at the same time, hold to the idea that the decision to kill an innocent baby "should only be up to the women to decide". If you are truly pro-life, then you must hold that it is never permissible to murder an innocent baby, whether in the womb or out. Shevchenko also spelled out that "women should have the choice to abort... if her life was in danger from a high risk pregnancy, or if a woman was sexually assaulted".
