Rating Comments: On December 10, 2020, Councillor Esslinger threw in with the rest of the Edmonton City Councillors to unanimously pass a totalitarian bylaw banning the practice of “conversion therapy” within the city boundaries. This bylaw officially bans, under pain of stiff fines, psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, priests and pastors from providing counselling support to individuals who request assistance to overcome unwanted gender identity confusion and same-sex attraction. It will also inevitably lead to the de-facto criminalization of key Christian teachings on human sexuality, predictably including public prayer and evangelization to call homosexuals out of a sinful lifestyle.
