CLC rating: Pro-abortion, anti-parental rights
Rating Comments: Under the influence of its anti-life-and-family leader Susan Holt, the New Brunswick Liberal Party became officially pro-abortion and anti-parental rights when, at the Party's 2024 Convention, resolutions were passed to extend public funding to abortions committed outside hospitals at private, for-profit killing centres. Convention delegates also voted to eviscerate the current PC government's pro-parental rights Policy 713, which requires parental consent before transgender "pronouns" can be used to describe their children at school.
As further testament to the party's pro-abortion views, both of the previous Liberal Party leaders, Brian Gallant and Kevin Vickers, were aggressively pro-abortion. Gallant banned pro-lifers from running as Liberal candidates and repealed a requirement that hospital abortions required a sign-off by two doctors that the killing of the unborn child was "medically necessary". Both Gallant and Vickers strongly supported taxpayer funding of for profit, private abortuaries.
