MLA Nicole Sarauer
New Democratic Party, Regina Douglas Park, SK
Bio
CLC rating: Pro-abortion; Pro-LGBT ideology
Rating Comments: This NDP candidate was inadvertently sent a CLC questionnaire on Aug. 7, 2024. However the NDP is a resolutely pro-abortion party. This assesment is based on letter from previous NDP Party Leader, Dwain Lingenfelter, who told CLC Saskatchewan that the NDP unequivocally supports abortion and taxpayer funding of abortion. His letter stated that these are guiding principles of the NDP party. In November, 2017, Ms. Sarauer was happy to hear the then-leader of the Sask Party, Brad Wall, state that the province's stance on abortion hadn't changed. She wanted the killing of innocent human life to continue to be legal even after Wall's retirement.

Here is Nicole Sarauer's voting record relating to life and family issues:
Votes, Surveys and Policy Decision | Vote | Score |
---|---|---|
Bill 137 — The Education (Parents’ Bill of Rights) Amendment Act, 2023 In a groundbreaking victory for parental rights and child protection in Canada, the Saskatchewan provincial government passed its Parents’ Bill of Rights, ensuring that parental authority is respected, family values are prioritized over politically-correct / state-approved values, and students are better protected from falling prey to LGBT grooming and woke ideological indoctination. Premier Scott Moe even invoked the Notwithstanding Clause to shield the pro-family legislation from the whims of unelected, activist judges who might try to label it “transphobic”. Bill 137 passed by a huge vote margin of 40 - 12 on October 20, 2023. |
