Conservative MP Stephen Woodworth’s (Kitchener Centre) private members Motion 312 on the reality of life in the womb, to be heard in Parliament

Toronto, ON April 26, 2012 - On December 22, 2010 Stephen Woodworth MP (Kitchener Centre) urged Parliament to reverse outdated common law that denies the humanity of the unborn child. The ancient law does not equate with modern scientific knowledge. He later presented his Motion 312 which will receive one hour of debate today (April 26, 2012) and a vote which will come later next month or in the Fall.

“Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) supports the Woodworth Motion. The resulting merger of the law and science will never again deny that the child in the womb is a human being worthy of protection from the time of conception,” said Jim Hughes, President of CLC

“It is time to bring the law into sync with the 21 century and modern science. We are able to view the child in the womb moving, sucking their thumb, yawning etc, in 3D ultrasound and real-time 4D ultrasound,” said Mary Ellen Douglas, National Organizer of CLC. “The denial of the child’s humanity comes from those who are ‘science deniers’ when it comes to the facts on human development.”
