Campaign Life Coalition strongly urges provincial government to keep P.E.I abortion free

Charlottetown, Nov. 17, 2011 – On Saturday November 19th, pro-life Islanders will gather at the provincial legislature urging Premier Robert Ghiz and Health Minister Doug Currie not to give into the demands of pro-abortion activists and to keep abortion off Prince Edward Island.

“The pro-abortion camp is not in tune with the pro-life views of Islanders who wish to keep abortion mills out of their communities,” said Jim Hughes, President of Campaign Life Coalition (CLC). “Abortion is not a medically necessary procedure and is already wrongfully paid for by taxpayers. Having abortion easily accessible on the Island would lead to the slaughter of even more unborn babies,” added Hughes.

“The other side wants to force our government to provide and pay for abortions on the Island, and that is why pro-lifers will gather at the legislature to show support for an abortion-free P.E.I.,” said Aquinas Ryan, Campaign Life Coalition PEI President.

The rally will take place outside of the legislature at noon.
