Prime Minister Harper's maternal health initiative off to a good start says Campaign Life Coalition

TORONTO, Jan. 26 - Prime Minister Stephen Harper, speaking at the United Nation Commission in Geneva, where he is co-chair, on January 26, 2011, said that "initiatives to improve the health of women and children in impoverished nations will create a 'wave of hope' through the developing world."

"Mr. Harper has taken the lead in ensuring that women and children in dire need of medical and basic health necessities will have the financial assistance of Canada and other countries of good will", said Mr. Jim Hughes, National President of Campaign life Coalition (CLC). "Job well done Mr. Prime Minister!"

"We are proud of the fact that Canada will strive to ensure that the money raised will actually be spent on nutrition, health care for pregnant women and medicine and vaccines for themselves and their babies to prevent disease," said Mary Ellen Douglas, National Organizer of CLC. "This is true health care."

Campaign Life Coalition is a national, non-profit organization involved in politics and action advocating for legal and cultural change in Canada with respect to protecting human life and the family.
