New Brunswick election proved parental notification & consent for gender transitioning is a winning issue

HAMILTON, Ontario, Campaign Life Coalition (CLC) has published a detailed analysis of why the New Brunswick Liberal Party delivered a crushing defeat to the PC Party of Premier Blaine Higgs. In the course of this analysis, CLC found that the issue of parental rights was very popular for the PCs, despite other issues ultimately being perceived as more important to a plurality of voters in the waning days of the campaign.

“For about one month prior to the writ drop, CLC flooded New Brunswick households with postcards that praised Blaine Higgs’ parental notification and consent policy while exposing Susan Holt’s plan to repeal it and keep parents in the dark about their own children,” said Jack Fonseca, Director of Political Operations for Campaign Life Coalition. “A study of polling numbers found that during that period, the postcards arrested and reversed the Liberal lead, which had been growing. For a time, Liberals sank in popularity while the PCs surged.”

CLC took a popular vote projection model created by 338canada.com and, on top of it, plotted the key dates of its postcard delivery campaign, along with the dates at which the inflection point occurred when Liberals suddenly dropped and the PCs suddenly surged.

“The timeline paints an undeniable picture that our postcards educating New Brunswickers about the harms of transgender ideology in schools and the importance of parental consent won over New Brunswick voters, said CLC President Jeff Gunnarson.

“Unfortunately, this was only a temporary effect due to third-party advertiser spending limits subsequently coming into effect, which required us to halt the parental rights postcard campaign. Absent any sustained messaging about parental rights and the harms of gender ideology in schools, voters went back to worrying about healthcare and affordability in the remaining weeks to election day.”

Campaign Life Coalition urges New Brunswick parents, citizens and conservative politicians to continue advocating for parental notification and consent in the province’s schools regarding the gender transitioning of minor-aged children.
