Pro-abortion advocates cry wolf in Prince Edward Island
Charlottetown, May 28, 2015 - Pro-abortion advocacy groups - the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada and PEI Abortion Rights Network - are grasping at straws in an attempt to expand abortion access on Prince Edward Island. After a woman alleged that she was treated improperly in the emergency room at Charlottetown’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), abortion advocacy groups were quick to call for abolishing conscience rights for physicians and establishing abortion-on-demand in Prince Edward Island.
“These abortion advocacy groups seem to think they know better than trained health care professionals who assessed the situation and acted according to the hospital and the province’s protocols”, said Christina Alaimo, Youth Coordinator for Campaign Life Coalition. “This is nothing more than a callow gambit by abortion advocates to single-mindedly shove their abortion agenda down the throats of PEI taxpayers”.
“It’s ironic that abortion advocates are calling for increased abortion in the province due to “lack of safeguards”, yet a prescribed abortion drug was the cause of Ms. Cudmore landing in the hospital in the first place”, said Alissa Golob of Campaign Life Coalition.
Campaign Life Coalition urges all pro-life Islanders to sign the petition to keep women and their children safe by preventing the further liberalization of abortion in Prince Edward Island.
