Campaign Life Coalition urges Premier Brian Gallant to put women and children first
Toronto, Nov 26, 2014 – Campaign Life Coalition strongly opposes New Brunswick Premier Brian Gallant’s announcement to eliminate the province’s current limited abortion restriction, paving the way for fully funded abortion on demand in the province beginning January 1, 2015.
“Brian Gallant and the Liberal party of New Brunswick has caved in to the demands of a very loud minority of pro-abortion activists who support tax-payer funded killing of defenseless pre-born human beings, unlike the majority of Canadians,” said Jim Hughes, President of Campaign Life Coalition. “This decision should act as a wake-up call to all New Brunswickers who consider themselves pro-life.”
“Even with the current regulation, there was never any evidence that a woman was ever turned down for an abortion in New Brunswick in the first place. The pro-life movement is concerned with decreasing abortion numbers, not succumbing to pressure by a small minority in shallow ‘victories’,” said Alissa Golob, CLC Youth Coordinator for Campaign Life Coalition. “During the provincial election, pro-lifers worked hard to ensure that Gallant and his extreme pro-abortion position was exposed, almost costing him the election. We will work even harder during the next election to ensure he only serves one term”.
Campaign Life Coalition calls upon the Premier to put women and children first by ‘identifying the barriers to the right to life, and eliminating them’.
