Campaign Life Coalition to Health Canada: Keep Deadly Abortion Drug RU-486 out of Canada

Toronto, Nov 26, 2013 – Campaign Life Coalition is strongly urging Health Canada to reject the application for the deadly RU-486 drug in the face of added pressure from the Canadian Medical Association calling for its approval. RU-486 is a lethal drug that kills a developing human being in the womb at 5-7 weeks and has a long history of serious side-effects including death for women who take it.

“Canada has very wisely kept this drug out of our country based on the evidence of severe side-effects and complications which include severe cramping, nausea, vomiting, heavy bleeding, heart attacks (particularly in women over thirty five and smokers),” said Mary Ellen Douglas, National Organizer for CLC. “It seems that the Canadian Medical Association is so desperate to obtain easier ways to kill the pre-born child that they are pushing for a drug that is also a chemical assault on women’s bodies.”

“This human pesticide has no redeeming value for the mother or the baby,” said Jim Hughes, President of Campaign Life Coalition. “Our investigation showed that Roussel Uclaf who designed RU-486 also produced the Cyclon B gas used in Hitler’s extermination ovens in the Nazi concentration camps.”

Campaign Life Coalition is also launching an online petition calling on Health Canada to dismiss the application for RU-486 and to keep this lethal drug off the shelves.
