To Members of the Manitoba Legislative Assembly:

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about Bill 211, which would protect Manitoba abortionists from prosecution for aborting U.S. babies from states where abortion is illegal. We urge you to reject this bill, as it sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the sovereignty of other states.

Firstly, this bill would essentially allow Manitoba to become a safe haven for U.S. citizens seeking abortions that are illegal in their home states. This sends a clear message that the province is willing to disregard the laws and values of other states, and potentially interfere with their internal affairs. Moreover, it could lead to a surge in "abortion tourism," which would further strain the already overburdened healthcare system in Manitoba.

Secondly, this bill is not only morally troubling, but also raises serious legal questions. Abortion is a highly divisive issue in the United States, and it is not up to Manitoba to intervene in the laws and policies of other states. Allowing Manitoba abortion providers to operate with impunity could constitute a violation of U.S. law, and could result in diplomatic tensions with our southern neighbour.

Thirdly, we are deeply concerned about the message this bill sends to women and families in Manitoba. It suggests that the province is more concerned with advancing a political agenda than with providing genuine healthcare services to its residents. This is unacceptable, and we urge you to prioritize the well-being of Manitobans over political posturing.

Finally, Manitoba is known for its beauty, diversity, and rich cultural heritage. It should be a place where everyone, including the preborn, can thrive and be protected. Allowing foreign citizens to access abortion services that are illegal in their home states would undermine the values of Manitobans and the province's reputation as a place that is “glorious and free” for all.

In conclusion, we call on you to reject Bill 211 and uphold the principles of respect for other states' laws and sovereignty, as well as the provision of quality healthcare services to all Manitobans.

Very tired of how life is being discouraged continually, and death of babies, old people, mentally ill and disabled is being pushed outrageously.

The killing of the unborn should never have been legalized in the first place. I don’t agree with bringing women in from the USA to abort their babies just because the state where they live has outlawed such a terrible crime against humanity. Yes, babies born or pre born are human beings.
