Babies saved in two Canadian cities by 40 Days For Life

Just ten days in, and the Spring 2011 40 Days For Life campaign is off to a great start.  This spring's campaign is being hosted simultaneously in 10 Canadian cities.

Toronto's 40 Days For Life campaign reports that three babies have already been saved. 40 Days For Life in Toronto is organized as a CLC project by staff member, Nicole Campbell.  Below is an excerpt from Nicole's report submitted on Day 6:

"We've had 3 TURNAROUNDS SO FAR that we KNOW of!!! One last Thursday, was a girl who was 18 weeks pregnant...I talked to her boyfriend while she was in the room inside the abortion facility.  I gave him the information [about the child in the womb] and then he started texting her...then, he started to run inside, I asked him if he was going to get her and he said, "I don't know, she just told me to come right away". She came downstairs with him and I introduced myself. I asked her what made her change her mind...She said, "Well, I didn't...it was going to be a three day abortion, but the abortionist decided she couldn't put the laminaria in today and asked me to reschedule for next week." But, as we started to talk...she began crying and told me that she is scared of her Christian parents reaction, and fears that she will be shunned out of the family... so she doesn't know what to do...  She was crying when I told her about the size of her baby, what the baby would endure [during the abortion], as well as the trauma she would suffer afterwards. She was relieved she didn't do it. I gave her my number and she told me she would be in touch."

"I also heard from some prayer volunteers that a couple changed their mind early Saturday morning!!!  And TODAY, a young girl was walking in...she then stopped and saw the big banner with the unborn child, which read, "Before I formed you in the womb, I new You." She was visibly affected, stared at the sign, then turned around and walked right back to the bus stop where she came from!!!"

We've also received a report from organizers of 40 Days For Life in Kitchener, Ontario that they now have their city's first confirmed turnaround.  Below is an excerpt from their report:

"We've received direct confirmation that a baby's life was saved as a result of our peaceful prayer vigil at the Freeport Hospital abortion facility."

"Shortly after 6:00pm on a Wednesday, a car pulled up behind the prayer zone. A lady came out in a t-shirt and spring coat and started walking towards one of the prayer volunteers. He was not sure what this was about and was afraid it might be someone coming to complain about the vigil. When the lady got to our prayer volunteer, she explained to him that thanks to our 40 Days For Life prayerful witness, her 19-year old daughter changed her mind about having an abortion. Praise be to God!"

"The prayer volunteer did not ask a lot of questions, but it appears this turnaround actually occurred during our first 40 Days For Life in the fall of 2009. The baby has already been born and is thriving somewhere in our community, bringing joy to its mother... and grandmother!"

Please consider joining a 40 Days For Life vigil in a city near you. If none exists, please unite yourself spiritually through prayer and fasting to those participants across Canada who are praying for an end to abortion.
