Are you ready for graphic Sex Ed curriculum to hit Ontario schools? Now that Ontario voters have rewarded Kathleen Wynne with a majority, it’s a near certainty. She can now pass any legislation or regulation without the need for a single vote from the opposition. We remind readers that after winning the Liberal Leadership, Wynne’s very first announcement was that she would bring back the age-inappropriate Sex Ed curriculum. Dalton McGuinty was forced to shelf it in 2010 after backlash from parents and religious leaders.

In spite of being dogged by numerous financial scandals, the Liberals actually increased their seat count by 11, from 48 to 59. Meanwhile Tim Hudak's PCs lost 11 seats, shrinking from 38 to 27. The NDP held their seat count steady, at 21.  

As big an issue as the fiscal corruption of the Wynne/McGuinty government was, the moral corruption was even more astounding.  

Wynne's "gay Equity" mandate also forced the Catholic Church in Ontario to violate its own religious beliefs by coercing it to permit student-led, homosexual activist clubs within its walls. Under Wynne's euphemistic "Equity & Inclusive Education Strategy", the classroom is being used as a vehicle for indoctrination, normalizing the homosexual lifestyle in the minds of children.  

Under the McGuinty/Wynne government, a bill was secretly passed into law in 2012 to hide the number of elective abortions, and their costs, from the electorate... even if requested under a Freedom of Information request. This lack of transparency with taxpayer money is despicable, especially considering our health care system is already cash-starved and collapsing under its own weight.

The powerful unions successfully distorted Tim Hudak's jobs plan, caricaturing him as someone who would fire teachers and nurses although he merely planned to reduce the size of government through attrition, not pink slips. It would seem a great number of teachers and other trade unionists, put their perceived financial interests ahead of their Christian faith, and ahead of protecting unborn children.

Prior to the election, Kathleen Wynne also signalled that she might support legalizing euthanasia and assisted suicide in Ontario, following the province of Quebec's approach to circumvent the Criminal Code of Canada. While commenting on Quebec's Bill 52 which sought to legalize these forms of homicide, Wynne said she supported a "conversation on dying with dignity". When politicians use the euphemism of the suicide lobby, it's pretty clear where they stand. Indeed, having a national dialogue on "dying with dignity" made it into the Liberal platform and was cited by several Liberal candidates. Given Wynne now has the votes to push through any legislation she wants, without the assistance of the opposition parties, will Ontarians see such legislation over the next 4 years?

We congratulate the many pro-life candidates from various parties who ran but did not succeed in this election. We also congratulate those pro-life MPPs who were re-elected to Queen's Park including:

• Rick Nicholls (PC), Chatham-Kent-Essex
• Joe Dickson (LIB), Ajax-Pickering
• Mario Sergio (LIB), York West

We are saddened to see MPP Jerry Ouellette (PC) lose his seat in Oshawa. Although not rated fully pro-life by CLC, Jerry was a strong advocate for pro-family values. He will be missed. 

In Tim Hudak's concession speech, he announced he would step down as leader as soon as a vote for a successor could be held. He had promised during the election he would either win or step down. Hudak will not be missed by CLC, since he was rated "pro-abortion". We hope that a future PC leader will actually respect the sanctity of human life and family values.

It was unfortunate to see a majority of ridings where no pro-life candidate was on the ballot. This certainly contributed to supressing the vote amongst social conservatives. In fact, many supporters phoned our office to inform CLC they would decline their ballot due to having no pro-life candidate in the race.

Campaign Life Coalition will continue to work on pro-life/family issues at the provincial elections across the country, especially through our defund abortion campaign. We encourage pro-life, pro-family citizens to not be discouraged by this result, but rather, to recognize the need to redouble their efforts and get involved in the political process. After all, it's those who are involved in the political game who control the game.  

Finally, Wynne’s majority bears greatly on the school trustee elections that will take place across Ontario on October 27, 2014.  Since she has the power to ram graphic Sex Ed curriculum through the Ministry of Education, the battle to protect our children from being sexualized in school will now shift to school trustees.

There is also the problem of gay pride clubs (i.e. GSAs) conducting homosexual activism in Catholic schools. This was permitted by Bill 13, which itself was modelled on Kathleen Wynne’s gay Equity mandate. We have already seen the french Catholic District School Board of South Central harassed by the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal because it disallowed a same-sex attracted student from conducting activism that undermined Catholic beliefs. Now that Wynne doesn’t have to worry about re-election, it is highly likely that she will now bear down much harder on Catholic School Boards who dare to resist this agenda.

Parents, grandparents and other concerned ratepayers will have to work with their elected school trustee representative to protect their kids from all these morally and psychologically harmful curriculum mandates. But are such principled, courageous trustees likely to be found?

In Catholic and Public school boards alike, the majority of sitting trustees either agree with the government’s agenda, or refuse to offer any resistance. They need to be replaced. It is absolutely necessary that Godly men and women to run for trustee in the October 27^th election. Maybe that’s you? Or a relative that you can encourage to step forward? We need this to occur right across Ontario, in every school board.  CLC is willing to support trustee candidates, and we invite them to contact us.
