Rally Planned to Call on Rizzo to Resign
So far, over 1,500 concerned citizens have signed our petition calling on Maria Rizzo, chairwoman of the Toronto Catholic District School Board, to resign. Parents and stakeholders are outraged over Ms. Rizzo’s behaviour during the recent debate over adopting Transgenderism.
Maria Rizzo appears to want to take the “Catholic” out of Catholic education.
Ms. Rizzo has been leading the charge in her crusade to advance the LGBT agenda from her position of leadership from within the Board. She was a powerful proponent of the decision to add “gender identity” and “gender expression” (pro-transgender catch-phrases) to the Board’s Code of Conduct, which was ratified on Nov. 7th.
This is an unconscionable abuse of power, as the LGBT agenda is diametrically opposed to traditional Christian values concerning human sexuality and the human person.
According to the Holy Scriptures: “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27). The Lord Jesus teaches: “But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’” (Mark 10:6).
Pope Francis has called the new Gender Ideology “demonic”.
The Archdiocese of Toronto, led by Cardinal Thomas Collins, while acquiescing to the Board’s decision, admits: “While the archdiocese recognizes that terms such as gender identity are included in the Code, we do not accept the view of the human person which underlies this terminology, since that view is not compatible with our faith.” (emphasis added).
Despite the unequivocal teaching of Scripture and Church, Maria Rizzo has chosen to pursue her own dissident course of action. She has preferred the praise of leftist secularist politicians and the LGBT lobby.
Gender Theory poses an enormous danger to our children and youth. It claims that a boy can be a girl and a girl can be a boy. It teaches that gender is fluid and has more to do with your feelings than with the body God gave you. It promotes cross-dressing, sexual stereotyping, harmful artificial hormone therapy, mutilating “sex change” surgeries, and poses a threat to girls’ safety and privacy.
The fact that Maria Rizzo would use her position and influence as chairwoman of the TCDSB to foist Gender Ideology on every single Catholic elementary and secondary school in Toronto is shameful and downright evil. Her imposition of the LGBT agenda will impact over 90,000 kids!
Maria Rizzo MUST resign! And we are planning a rally next Tuesday to say so!
When four faithful Catholic trustees stood up to defend our kids from Transgenderism, Ms. Rizzo opposed them vehemently. Mike Del Grande, Gary Tanuan, Teresa Lubinski, and Nancy Crawford all spoke out against the inclusion of “gender expression” and “gender identity” in the TCDSB Code of Conduct. They proposed an inclusive and doctrinally-sound alternative that went like this: “That all members of the TCDSB community shall respect and treat others fairly, as children of God, created in the image and likeness of God and are of infinite dignity and value.”
Who could oppose such a wonderful statement? Maria Rizzo could – and did! Deriding the trustees who proposed this statement, Ms. Rizzo commented, “I was sickened by it, by the hypocrisy, by the homophobia and the fear-mongering.”
That’s why we are calling on parents, grandparents, stakeholders, and anyone who has a heart for the youth of this city to join us on Tuesday, November 26th, for a rally calling on Maria Rizzo to resign.
We will be gathering outside the TCDSB headquarters in North York, near the corner of Sheppard and Yonge, from noon to 1 PM.

We need to make a strong, public statement calling on Ms. Rizzo to resign ahead of the upcoming election of the next Board chairman, which is scheduled for Thursday. Mike Del Grande, one of the faithful defenders of Christian teaching, whom Ms. Rizzo is vilifying, is running for the position of chairman.
Please join us, if you are able, next Tuesday outside TCDSB headquarters from noon to 1. I will also be delivering more signatures from our petition at the rally.
May the Lord speak to Ms. Rizzo’s heart through all our efforts!
