Are we getting a win?
The next school board meeting is going to be big …
And we need you physically present, to give moral support to a principled trustee.
A critical vote is coming up at the Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB).
The board of trustees will be debating a motion that, if passed, would restore the right of members of the public to take photos and record videos during official meetings.
Trustee Conrad Stanley is bringing this initiative forward and here’s an excerpt from his motion:
“Therefore, be it resolved that the Waterloo Catholic District School Board:
Hereby authorizes any member of the public attending in its gallery to make their own video and audio recordings of any public board meeting for their own personal use. This policy is effective immediately and may not be rescinded, even on a temporary basis, unless staff consult with, and receive approval from, the full Board of Trustees in a meeting of the board.”
You can read the full motion here on page 74 the PDF document.
It sounds like a no brainer, right?
Absolutely, but the bigger question is: why is this even an issue in the first place?
Well, it is an issue because the woke Director of Education, Tyrone Dowling, has been stopping people from taking any pictures or videos at WCDSB meetings.
How do I know?
Because it happened to me!
I tried to record a parent at the January board meeting who was delegating against the LGBT propaganda books uncovered at Canadian Martyrs Elementary School, and was ordered by a hired security guard to turn off my camera or else he’d forcibly remove me from the building.
The Director didn’t want to risk a video of the parent delegation going viral and exposing the WCDSB’s LGBT indoctrination program, so he instructed the guards to prevent all recording.
This why the next WCDSB meeting, and the anti-censorship motion, is so important.
It’s scheduled for Monday, March 24th, at 6 p.m. and we need to pack the gallery with as many people as possible to support Trustee Stanley’s motion.
LOCATION: 35 Weber St W, Kitchener (Click here for directions.)
There’s another big thing we need, too.
We’re looking for more people to step forward as delegates at the March 24th meeting to keep the pressure on the trustees over these LBGT propaganda books. Delegates may also choose to speak in support of Trustee Stanley’s motion, to help ensure it passes!
The scandalous reading materials are spiritually harmful, they run contrary to Church Teaching, and have no place in any Catholic school board.
So far, we’ve been doing a good job of raising the issue, but we can’t take our foot off the gas pedal – we have to keep the momentum going, which means we need more speakers.
To register as a delegate, contact Stephanie Medeiros at [email protected] no later than Monday, March 17th, at 9:00 a.m.
If you need help organizing a few thoughts for your presentation, we can help.
Please pray for the WCDSB trustees, as well, along with all the teachers and administrators, too, and the students.
