Premier Scott Moe Reneges on His Promise

Premier Scott Moe was re-elected on October 28th with a solid 52.3% of the vote. This will be the fifth consecutive win for the popular Saskatchewan Party. There is no doubt Mr. Moe has achieved a clear mandate. So why has he chosen to backtrack on one of the key promises that got him elected in the first place – to keep boys out of girls’ changerooms?

Mr. Moe recently told reporters: “When I was asked a question and provided a response on the changeroom policy here in the province, I [said] it was going to be the first order of business. I misspoke. It's not.”

Premier Scott Moe

Is the Premier scared of the powerful LGBT lobby? Is he worried about the teacher unions? It’s hard to say.

Was he lying when he promised to protect vulnerable school-age girls from transgender insanity? Was he just pandering for political power? I would hate to think that.

However, by refusing to take action, Premier Moe is turning his back on Saskatchewan parents and putting Saskatchewan children at immediate risk of harm.

Mr. Moe has stated that he will now consult with individual school boards, which currently set their own policy and make up their own rules regarding the protection of girls in private female spaces – such as changerooms and washrooms. This patchwork approach means that girls in one town may be protected, while girls in another town will be subjected to potential humiliation and abuse in schools that embrace gender theory.

Girls' Changing Rooms

We know that gender theory does nothing to help children. Instead of affirming the biological, God-given reality of two sexes, gender theory confuses young minds, claiming there are scores of “gender identities” that children can freely choose from and appropriate. It encourages and celebrates “gender transitioning”, whereby an impressionable young person is persuaded either by teachers, by his or her peer group, or by social media celebrities that he or she has been “born in the wrong body”. The solution? A cocktail of sterilizing artificial hormones, puberty blockers, and other interventions (like breast binders for girls) leading up to permanent, mutilating surgeries.

The physical, mental, and spiritual harms exacted on trans-mislabelled children are enormous.

Gender theory also says that children must be free to use the private spaces of their choice – whatever aligns with their perceived “gender identity” du jour. And so, biological males, by merely claiming to be female, can freely enter female changerooms and washrooms. This violates the privacy and dignity of women and girls and poses a threat to their safety and the security of their persons.

The physical, mental, and spiritual threat to all children is enormous!

When the Saskatchewan Parents’ Bill of Rights was passed last year, we were very hopeful that the province was moving in the right direction – following the path of common sense and upholding basic human rights. But Premier Moe’s recent waffling has thrown everything into question.

We need to reach out to Mr. Moe, along with all MLAs, and demand that Saskatchewan girls be protected right now. We need to urge our elected representatives to do the right thing and continue in the positive, pro-parent, pro-child trajectory this province had begun to follow.

Take a moment to send an Action Alert Email and tell Premier Moe to honour the promise he made before the election. We’ve made it so easy to send a pre-scripted email to Premier Moe and your local MLA. In less than two minutes, you’ll have made your voice heard to the Premier. You can even place a phone call with our on-screen script, or tweet a message to Premier Moe.

Let’s respect parents. Let’s protect children. Let’s acknowledge reality.

As the Bible says: “From the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’”
