Can you imagine teachers keeping a mother in the dark as her 11-year-old daughter is secretly transitioned at school – treated as a boy? Can you imagine teachers and doctors – without parental knowledge or consent – encouraging that young, impressionable girl to adopt make-believe “they/them” pronouns, to take on a boy’s name, to wear painful “breast-binders”, and to consider artificial hormone therapy? And then, can you imagine, when the mother eventually finds out, instead of apologizing, the school reports her to Children’s Aid with the implicit threat that she might lose her child over her objections?

I wish it weren’t so, but this is no imaginary dystopian tale. It is a parent’s worst nightmare come true. As recently reported in national media, these appalling events took place in 2022 in a York Region Catholic school!

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (no. 2393) states: “By creating the human being man and woman, God gives personal dignity equally to the one and the other. Each of them, man and woman, should acknowledge and accept his sexual identity.” As Jesus taught, “God made them male and female.” (Mark 10:6). In other words, we all need to accept who we are, in the bodies that God gave us – men and women, boys and girls. Transgenderism is actually a lie. But this York Region Catholic school decided to break with Catholic teaching, break with the Word of God, and follow the fad of transgender ideology!

If it were not for the fact that that young girl came to her senses about a year later and detransitioned, we would never have found out about this horror story. Despite pressure from students and teachers to “stay trans”, I thank God that she decided to accept her own biological body! However, this begs the question: How many other young girls and boys are being treated as guinea pigs in a secret transgender experiment in Ontario schools? How many parents are being kept in the dark?

Jesus said: “Everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.” (John 3:20).

We need to demand legislation NOW to bring this hideous practice of transitioning students into the light. Parental consent MUST be required before a child is transitioned in school! Teachers should not be allowed to keep secrets from parents – it is only a cloak for abuse.

According to studies, “61%-98% of gender incongruent children desisted from their trans identification before reaching adulthood.” That is to say, it is normal for feelings of gender dysphoria and discomfort with one’s body to be passing for most young people. These feelings naturally come and go.

However, when children are “socially transitioned”, i.e. treated as the opposite sex in public, like what happened in that York Region school, there is a brainwashing effect that takes place. This makes transgender feelings stay around much longer than they would otherwise. Experts say: “Early social gender transition is not neutral but may be a form of psychosocial intervention that predisposes an otherwise transient childhood transgender identity to persist.” This brainwashing through “social transition” then creates a ready market for the pushers of puberty blockers, artificial sex-change hormones, and mutilating, amputating sex-change surgeries, leaving many trans-identified people scarred, sterile, and often suicidal (according to a 2011 Swedish study).

In the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and New Brunswick, courageous politicians have stood up to protect children and defend parents’ rights by requiring teachers and staff to obtain parental consent before underage children can transition at school. The Saskatchewan policy states: “a parent or guardian of a pupil has the right to… if the pupil is under 16 years of age, provide consent before the pupil’s teachers and other employees of the school use the pupil’s new gender-related preferred name or gender identity at school.”

At minimum, we want to see this same type of legislation enacted immediately in Ontario. And this should be a no-brainer for Doug Ford’s “Conservative” government!

According to polls, 78% per cent of Canadians believe that parents should be told about their child’s gender confusion at school, with 43% agreeing that consent must be required. Only 14% take the position that parents should have no role whatsoever in their child’s transition at school.

Will Premier Ford side with extreme transgender ideologues and woke radicals, or will he stand with ordinary, everyday Ontario moms and dads?

Parents need to speak out today to demand action. What if it were your child that fell victim to transgender ideologues at school? What if he or she were transitioned without your knowledge or consent – encouraged to use fake pronouns and a different name? What if he or she were urged to take puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones? What would you do?

Let’s take these disturbing questions off the table once and for all by demanding parental consent legislation RIGHT NOW.
