Trustee de Domenico opposes pro-life flag
When you think of a Catholic school board, you naturally imagine that its trustees would be happy to promote the teachings of the Catholic Church, including its teaching against abortion, right?
Sadly, this does not apper to be the case with Trustee Markus de Domenico, your Toronto Catholic District School Board representative in Ward 2, where you live.
To my shock and dismay, Mr. de Domenico lashed out and attacked a potentially life-saving, anti-abortion motion by his colleague on the board, Trustee Michael Del Grande!
Trustee Del Grande had introduced a motion that, if passed, would require all TCDSB Catholic schools to fly the International Pro-Life flag during the month of May, annually. The motion will be voted on by the board on Tuesday, April 23rd. That's tonight!
Ponder the following...
How many preborn babies' lives might be saved throughout Toronto when abortion-vulnerable students, and others in the community, see this beautiful flag, and draw strength from it to make a loving choice for their baby?
In a radio interview with Greg Brady on AM 640, Trustee de Domenico stated, in no uncertain terms, that he intended to vote against the pro-life flag motion. He then went on to say, "It's not what we do as a Catholic board," and disparaged the pro-life initiative as "so inappropriate" and "ridiculous".
How cruel, callous and uncaring can DeDomenico be to these little children? Has he no mercy in his heart?
Let's be blunt here. We're talking about babies who are going to be killed by abortion! There exists in Canada no human beings more vulnerable, more marginalized, and more voiceless than children in the womb.
If he's truly Catholic, I don't know how de Domenico can sleep at night, knowing that he voted against being a voice for these vulnerable and marginalized unborn children.
Hypocritically, Trustee de Domenico has a double standard when it comes to flying flags. He advocated extremely loudly a couple of years ago to fly the transgender and homosexual Pride flag at every Catholic school and the board office!
So, according to your elected TCDSB trustee, Markus de Domenico, the International Pro-life Flag is not appropriate for Catholic schools... but the LGBT Pride flag is appropriate!
How insane is his thinking, and how totally contrary to the mind of Christ?
What I want to leave you with, is this....
It is vitally important that we start mobilizing now to defeat Trustee de Domenico when the next school board elections take place in 2026!
